Airbor - Hazardous Environment Drilling
Aimed at specialised applications such as petrochemical plants; offshore oil and gas facilities; mining; shipyard and
marine, mineral and powder processing industries etc. The Airbor is powered and controlled entirely by compressed air.
By eliminating the risk of explosion from sparking and the danger of electric shock and short circuits due to moisture,
the airbor is quite simply the only machine that can offer such a high degree of safety. |

FEATURES
• Fail safe permanent magnet
The air operated magnet is designed so that if the air flow is interrupted the magnet stays on. An added feature in the event of such a power loss is an interlock that requires the motor to be manually restarted when the air flow is restored.
• Air motors
Drive is from twin pneumatic motors via a central arbor mounted on heavy duty bearings to minimise run out. The arbor also features an internal bore to allow coolant to be fed under pressure to the cutter, reducing the risk of sparking or over heating.
• Spark resistant body
Components can be manufactured in materials to suit the safety requirements of specific markets.
• Anti-Static piping - fitted as standard
• Internal switching - The machine controlled block reduces the risk of pipe joint failure.
• Mechanical Integrity - The motor case mates directly with the body, providing a more rigid cutting platform. |
